The Project is run by a Community Interest Company as a non-profit organisation with assets locked to a Registered Charity which works in support of Refugee Doctors.

Mr Vince Ion


Vince is a former Health Visitor who has a long background in NHS health education, and who now runs a social enterprise company. He is a devoted Everton supporter.

Vince has the responsibility for marketing, communications and quality standards.


Dr Andrew Mowat 

Andrew is Chair of Trustees of BMA Charities, a body which supports refugee doctors. He retired as a GP in Louth and Woodhall Spa in 2015, but continues as a GP Appraiser and Mentor, and is still active in the BMA nationally and locally. He sings comperes and is a soloist with the Louth Male Voice Choir.

Andrew has the responsibility for seeking funding opportunities and stakeholder engagement

Mr Andrew North

Andrew is former Chief Executive of both North Lincs & Goole and United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust. He too sings with Louth Male Voice Choir.

Andrew has the responsibility of the finances and the structure of the programme.

Ben Hudson

Ben Hudson is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Lincoln. Ben is co-founder of Lincoln City of Sanctuary and a member of the Universities of Sanctuary National Steering Group. Ben is committed to ensuring that the refugee doctors have the support in place that enables them to excel on the programme and in their profession. Prior to his appointment as a Director in February 2019, Ben was an observer to the LRDP Board.

Sarah Parkin

Sarah has been involved in local politics as a councillor for over 8 years. Her roles, both at East Lindsey and Lincolnshire County Council, have provided a significant strength and vibrancy within her local communities. It’s the valuable impact from this that she so passionately wants to draw together for the good of this project. Sarah has been campaigning for refugee rights for a number of years. Her role involves liaison with councils and  community organistions, as well as media coordination.

Associate Directors :

Graham Briggs

Graham has lived in Lincolnshire for over 25 years. He is currently the Director of GB HR Limited, an HR and OD Consultancy, and joins us with an extensive career as an NHS HR Director working in Acute Hospitals across Norfolk, Lincolnshire, South and West Yorkshire. Both as a Lincolnshire resident and HR professional Graham has an interest in tackling the doctor shortage across the NHS.

Jill Guild                                                                         

Jill has recently left Health Education England in the East Midlands, and was the Project Manager for the project. She continues as an Associate on the Board.

She has responsibility for liaison with local health education and workforce planning bodies.

Dr Kieran Sharrock                      

Kieran is Medical Director of Lincolnshire’s Local Medical Committee, and a GP in Spilsby. Kieran is a keen cyclist.

Kieran represents connections to the wider health community.

Dr Tony Hill MBE

Tony is a former Director of Public Health in both Northern Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire County. He is currently leading clinical engagement for the Lincolnshire STP; assisting with the plans for a medical school for Lincolnshire; and mentoring Health and Welbeing Boards for the LGA.”

Tony holds the responsibility working the agencies such as benefits and housing.


Dr Suganthi Joachim

Suganthi is Clinical Director of Anaesthetic Services for United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust (ULHT), and was formally the Director of the Foundation Training Programme in ULHT for doctors entering postgraduate training.

Suganthi holds the lead for the quality of clinical placements, education and training and the GMC regulatory framework.
