Clinical Mentor/Tutor

We’re looking for doctors and other professional colleagues to support refugee doctors personally, in their professional work and their career development. None of them will have worked in the NHS before, and their experience may not have prepared them for working in the UK. We are looking to recruit Clinical Mentors to help with some teaching, with group discussions, with befriending, with exam preparation, with CV writing and so on.

Social Mentor

Social mentors will provide mentees with social support that promotes their success on the LRDP Programme. While clinical guidance and support will be provided by medically-trained practitioners, the role of a social mentor is to be a source of wider local and regional advice and guidance, sharing knowledge of local services and activities, and playing an important role in supporting integration within the local community.

Teaching English as a Second Language

Lincolnshire Refugee Doctor Project is a Community Interest Company, based in Grimsby, who will be supporting refugees with medical qualifications, living in the UK, to work within the NHS. As part of the curriculum our doctors are required to pass the IELTS / OET exam designed specifically for the medical professionals. If you are a qualified English or ESOL teacher who can volunteer some of your time each week, long-term, to teach English as a Second Language then we would like to hear from you.
